I wish I had done this project!...I learned about Jean-Yves Jouannais' Encyclopedie de Guerres from Jean-Pierre Cometti back in 2013, who in his essay and contribution to my artist book compared it to my own humble endeavor, the Home Guard Manual of Camouflage. Encyclopedie de Guerres is just as its name suggests, a sort of war encyclopedia... one that does not exist in print, but only via his live conference sessions at the Centre Pompidou. In his encyclopedic sessions, he talks about his chosen entry, projects images he has chosen to illustrate the subject at hand, and often rambles off to another subject that spontaneously comes to mind in relation to that subject... all of it is part of the entry and equally important.
